November’s insights!

For as much as I claim I don’t read Contemporary Romance, I think my selections prove that I sure read a lot of it.  What can I say, I’m always on the lookout for the next amazing Romance!  I want another Captive Prince, or Outlander, so I keep on trying more.

I also think I need to read a fantasy novel in December.  A true typical epic fantasy (YA, of course).  If you have a recommendation, let me know!

Finally, why do so many authors choose to use naked men on the cover?  I feel like in the 80’s and 90’s it was typical to use Fabio on the cover, with a half naked woman draped over him somehow.  Now, in 2016 we love romance covers with shirtless men.  Out of all the contemporary romance’s I chose in November, I think Ready to Roll has the best cover.  Followed by Fish Stick Fridays.  Thoughts?

What I’ve got my eye on for December?

These are the four that I put on the schedule for review in December.  I’m looking forward to reading all of these, but the one I want to read the most is News of the World.  I’m a sucker for stories like that, about the bond between a child and a grumpy, but kind, older man.  Like Heidi.  I loved Heidi as a child.

I also can’t wait to read Lucky Boy.  As soon as I saw it was available for review I had to request.  It’s the perfect story for our political climate.

I didn’t get to these last month, but maybe I’ll fit them in this time around.  In particular, I can’t wait to read The Queen and The Homo Jock King.  I love me some TJ Klune.

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  2. There are some hot covers there in the 4-4.5 star range! LOL I’m going to admit it – I love sexy abs, so I’m a sucker for those covers. 🙂

You had a great reading month, and it looks like you have some interesting books coming up!
