Confession, I haven’t been watching any regular TV. Everything went on hiatus for the holidays, and by the time it all came back we were in Supernatural’s sweet embrace. My daughter and I watched through the end of season 5, but then we got my husband into it. He finally broke down, and it’s all because Dean (Jensen Ackles) is so damn funny. From there we all started over from the beginning to watch together. At the time I’m writing this, we watched the finale of season 3. This is a bandwagon I joined late, but better late than never, I guess. Right?
Anyway, the problem now is that when we’re not watching Supernatural and I have ‘me TV’ time, I can’t watch my regular shows. We watch them together, I can’t break the pact. So, instead of watching all those shows I love, this week we’ve been busting out the DVD’s.
I didn’t realize that my daughter’s new PlayStation 4 played DVD’s! Yes, I’m that dense when it comes to the new Game Systems. Yes, the old PlayStation’s played DVD’s, but it never even crossed my mind… until suddenly it did! It was so exciting! I haven’t had a DVD player in years, but I knew I was holding onto those movies for a reason. After this weekend we’ll have watched:
Never Been Kissed
She’s All That
The Duff
A Knight’s Tale
The Covenant
Fright Night
Monster Squad
Drop Dead Fred
The Faculty
I see no end in sight.
I also took my daughter to see A Monster calls, which was epic. I loved it. Amazing. You can read all my thoughts here.
Oh, and I heard that No Tomorrow was canceled. It breaks my heart. It wasn’t super deep, or intricate, but what’s wrong with that? It made me feel happy and smile, and it gave me a super hot guy to swoon over. I’m so sad to see it go.
In other news, Ed Sheeran released two singles from his upcoming new album Divide. Since I’m a superfan, I loved both Castle on the Hill and Shape of You. I tried to hold out and not buy the two singles, because I knew I would buy the full album on release day, but I just couldn’t wait until March. That’s the release date, March 3rd. That’s FOREVER!
So that’s it, I have no other media related scoop. Next month I’ll be back to watching regular television and I’ll have a lot to say.
Till then!
Is that ‘Fright Night’ with Roddy McDowell? I have been looking for that movie, but cannot find it. 😦 I am jealous!

No, sadly. It’s the more recent version with Colin Farrell. Prior to watching the the recent version, I hadn’t seen either. Maybe I should have started with the original.

The original Fright Night? I used to love that movie when I was a kid! (You can tell my parents didn’t patrol what we watched. Flashdance was another favorite. Of my brother’s for obvious reasons…LOL
Yes to Never Been Kissed, A Knight’s Tale, and Drop Dead Fred! Stay away from the gladiolas. 😉

No, it was the remake of Fright Night, with Colin Farrell. I borrowed it from a friend.
I’ve never actually seen Flashdance, how crazy is that? My favorite dance movie was Dirty Dancing. I had a poster of Johnny Castle on my ceiling over my bed… lol. I got the idea from my favorite book, Just As Long As We’re Together by Judy Blume. The main character had a poster of a young Richard Gere over her bed. 😀

Haha sounds like lots of fun, I still have my DVD player, actually I think we still own three in total, and we still have a VCR haha.
I want Supernatural to end before I start watching it because I hate when you get all caught up and you have to wait for new episodes; half the time I forget that there will be a new episode and I fall behind. That’s why a lot of the time I watch older tv shows, like The West Wing which I’m almost done!

Oh man, I would LOVE to still own a VCR! I’ve kept all those movies too, haha.
Well, Supernatural was just renewed for another season so you may have a while. Though if you do breakdown and try it, at least you’ll have 12 seasons of padding before you’re caught up. 🙂

ANOTHER SEASON? Holy moly this show is going to live forever!
I still have all my Disney movies on VHS so I’m glad my dad kept the VCR!

Ha!! It does feel like it’s going to live forever! Especially because it got an early renewal, which means it’s still got great ratings.
I have my Disney movies too. That’s exactly what I’d want a VCR for!

Really, woah, so a lot of people still watch it.
Hmm I wonder if there are places you can still buy old electronics from, like there has to be, right?
