To My Valentines,

First, Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you!

I know this is considered a ‘commercial’ holiday, but I actually really enjoy Valentine’s Day.  It’s a happy romantic day, and it’s very close to my birthday.  It’s a month of goodies, and me being doted on.  Maybe that sounds terrible, but as a wife and mother, I don’t tend to be the spoiled one at home.  I think most mothers would say the same.

So, obviously my true valentine is my wonderful husband, Mr Birdie.  We met and began dating in High School and we’ve been ‘it’ for each other ever since.  He’s my best friend, and I recently got him to admit that I’m his best friend too.  (Even when we want to strangle each other.)  I’m looking forward to him being my Valentine for many years to come.

THIS post isn’t about him though.  This is about all my book boyfriends, because this married lady is allowed to have fictional affairs.  Here’s to the men who have stolen pieces of my heart….

Blake Riley

WAGs by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

“He just laughs, that deep, boisterous laugh that seems to come from the center of his soul, because Blake doesn’t do anything half-assed. He laughs the way he lives his life – loud and fierce and without inhibition.”

Rikkard Ambrose

Storm and Silence by Robert Thier

“And worse, far worse – he wasn’t just kissing me. He was making me like it! And he was somehow, by some nefarious chauvinistic manly trick managing to make me kiss him back!”

Izzy Zanella

Troubleshooters by Suzanne Brockmann

“Because first and foremost, Izzy was marrying Eden because he wanted her to keep on smiling at him, the way she was smiling at him right now.
He wanted to be her hero.”

Jericho Barrons

Fever by Karen Marie Moning

“I know part of what turns me on so hard, makes me so violent with lust, is that he’s dangerous. I fell for the bad guy. I’m crazy about the one who’s trouble. The alpha that doesn’t play well with others and doesn’t take orders from anyone.”

Jamie Fraser

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

“No wonder he was so good with horses, I thought blearily, feeling his fingers rubbing gently behind my ears, listening to the soothing, incomprehensible speech. If I were a horse, I’d let him ride me anywhere.”

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  2. The thing about men in books is that they’re never going to let you down. Mine is Mr Knightley from ‘Emma’. I can’t even hold it against him that he married her, since they’re clearly made for one another.
