A humongous thank you to Mandy at Book Princess Reviews for tagging me in the Book Personality Challenge. I think so far this is my favorite tag. I love how unique it is, and how it’s not only about books and reading but it’s also about each of our personality types. I can’t wait to see what I get, and to see what everyone else gets.
So much fun!

What is your MBTI personality type?
MEDIATOR PERSONALITY (INFP, -A/-T)
Mediator personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Mediators have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the Mediator personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.
Being a part of the Diplomat Role group, Mediators are guided by their principles, rather than by logic (Analysts), excitement (Explorers), or practicality (Sentinels). When deciding how to move forward, they will look to honor, beauty, morality and virtue – Mediators are led by the purity of their intent, not rewards and punishments. People who share the Mediator personality type are proud of this quality, and rightly so, but not everyone understands the drive behind these feelings, and it can lead to isolation.
All that is gold does not glitter; not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither; deep roots are not reached by the frost. – J. R. R. Tolkien
What is your personality like?
This feels like me in a lot of ways, like being shy and introverted. The idea that we’re drawn toward Fantasy, or in how we can lose ourselves in our heads and forget the day to day, or that we can become hermits. I think that’s true of myself. However, I definitely don’t have an affinity for language. Not at all.
Actually, the more I think about it the more I think it does sound like me. Just not that language thing. That’s the only thing that made me wrinkle my nose.
If you were a character in a book, what would be some of you character strengths and flaws?
Strengths: Ugh, I’d probably be so annoying. I’m creative and harmonious. I’m open-minded, loyal and passionate. Which means, if this is a horror movie I’m probably dead. I’m not the kind of character that survives.
Weaknesses: Yep, I’m totally dead. On top of being all those strengths, I’m also difficult to get to know, probably because I take everything so personally. I’m impractical, which is a death sentence. If I was reading a story about me, I wouldn’t like me very much.
Do any authors share your personality type?
Well, what do you know. I got two pretty popular authors:
What fictional characters share your personality type?
If you were a character in a book, what job would you have?
Oh my, well what do you know, I should be a novelist. Which is pretty much what I’ve always wanted to do. Since that’s not an easy career path, they also tell me I should look into being a social worker or some kind of counselor or therapist.
I’m not sure that’s for me, what who am I to argue.
What personality type would complete your OTP?
Mediators are dreamy idealists, and in the pursuit of the perfect relationship, this quality shows strongest. Never short on imagination, Mediators dream of the perfect relationship, forming an image of this pedestalled ideal that is their soul mate, playing and replaying scenarios in their heads of how things will be. This is a role that no person can hope to fill, and people with the Mediator personality type need to recognize that nobody’s perfect, and that relationships don’t just magically fall into place – they take compromise, understanding and effort.
Okay, well how about the fact that I don’t actually believe in soul mates, so that’s false. BUT, I guess I do know what they’re saying about replaying scenarios in my head about how things SHOULD go. Luckily I’m pretty happy in my husband, so I don’t need to worry much about this.
Who are some fictional characters that would complete your OTP?
I’m not sure. It sounds like I’m so flighty in love that they didn’t actually give me any information on what type of personality type would best suite me. They pretty much lectured me on how I should be better. So I think they’re saying I could end up alone. In their face, since I’m already married.
I’m going to tag a few people on this one, only because I think it was so much fun to do. I hope you want to do it, because I want to read your answers.
So, I tag:
Angie @ BaBAMB
Meghan @ Whimsically Exporations & Reviews
Jackie @ Death by Tsundoku
Lois & David @ Loisreadsbook
This test was fun and I discovered I’m a mediator too!*fist bump*

They really do. This one was a good 15 minutes, and then I usually lose interest before I finally read everything. This one was fun though because I was looking for particular answers.

This was so much fun to read, Birdie, and I’m so glad that you enjoyed!! Those characters are so cute, and I’m so impressed that you’re up with Shakespeare and J. R. R.! I found it rather interesting that the two jobs are basically counselor and novelist. Is a novelist kind of like a counselor then? LOL. Anyway, fantastic post, and it was so much fun to read, Birdie!!

Thanks! And they are really interesting that they’re both mediator jobs. I’ll say that I get a lot of therapy from reading. 🙂
