Release by Patrick Ness
(Release Date: September 19, 2017)
About the Book:
Inspired by Mrs Dalloway and Judy Blume’s Forever, Release is one day in the life of Adam Thorn, 17. It’s a big day. Things go wrong. It’s intense, and all the while, weirdness approaches…
Adam Thorn is having what will turn out to be the most unsettling, difficult day of his life, with relationships fracturing, a harrowing incident at work, and a showdown between this gay teen and his preacher father that changes everything. It’s a day of confrontation, running, sex, love, heartbreak, and maybe, just maybe, hope. He won’t come out of it unchanged. And all the while, lurking at the edges of the story, something extraordinary and unsettling is on a collision course.
Why I’m dying to read this:
I’m kind of a Patrick Ness super fan. I’ve read most of his recent works, and I’ve loved them all. I’m already stuck trying to decide if I’m going to order this internationally so I can have it in May, or holding out for the US cover in September. All I know is this is more Patrick Ness and I want it!
Have you guys read anything by Patrick Ness?

I read his novel More Than This and absolutely loved it! Such a powerful book! Have you read that one yet?

I have been wanting to read A Monster Calls after watching the movie, but my books on the shelf are waiting to be finished…so I believe I would have to finish them first before getting a new one 😦

And that’s one that really needs to be read in print, with all the images. It’s gorgeous. Also, it’s actually not long either.

I’ve never read Patrick Ness, but I’m not interested in an entire book that takes place over one day. Fantastic cover, though.
I’ll be interested to see if you go international for this one! Keep me posted. LOL

Only A monster Calls, but I found his writing to be lovely! I am sure it is a title of his that probably cannot be compared to others, but I am still excited about reading more of his work 😉

I haven’t read anything by him yet, but A Monster Calls is sitting on the To Be Read Soon pile next to my bed. This one sounds fantastic too (and the cover is pretty mind blowing, so thanks for spotlighting it 🙂
