Ten Spring Releases I Can’t Wait For

This is an easy Top Ten Tuesday.  I love keeping track of new releases and sharing them with all of you.  I especially love going to see all the new releases you’re looking forward to, also!  It’s all about drowning ourselves in books to read, right?

We all complain, but we all love it!  😀

Here are the ones I’m most excited for.

the-love-interest1. The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich.

I’ve talked about this book over and over, but the fact is I just can’t wait to read it!  It’s probably my #1 most anticipated YA release.  Confession: I already have an e-copy of this book, advance copy from NetGalley, and it’s been SO hard trying to keep myself from starting it immediately.  I’m holding strong, and reviewing in May, closer to release day.  🙂

Olive Juice2. Olive Juice by TJ Klune

So, big surprise right?  I’m sure you saw this one coming from a mile away.  “Hello, my name is Birdie, and I’m a TJ Klune addict.”  Olive Juice is supposed to make us ugly cry, which I’m kind of excited for.  Wolfsong made me lose it, and that’s near the top of my favorite reads ever.  I have a feeling I’m going love this one, too.  (I already love that cover.)

the-upside-of-unrequited3. The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

The world fell in love with Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda, and I did too.  So far it’s my favorite LGBT YA Contemporary read.  Finding out that The Upside of Unrequited is a spin-off made me so excited.  I’m really hopeful that somehow we’ll see a little glimpse here and there of Simon and Blue.  Plus, I’m hoping Baby Chick will read it with me.

Monet Murders4. The Monet Murders by Josh Lanyon

I’m sure nobody is shocked by this selection either.  For me, Josh Lanyon is to M/M Cozy Mysteries as TJ Klune is to M/M Contemporary or M/M Fantasy.  I love Josh Lanyon’s mysteries, and I love her characters.  Jason and Sam are a relatively new couple, as this is only the second book, but so far it’s a slow burn similar to Adrien and Jake.  And that was delicious!

Darkest Hour before Dawn5. Darkest Hour Before Dawn by Charlie Cochet

Another one of my favorite M/M authors- I can’t wait for the latest installment of the THIRDS Urban Fantasy series.  Ultimately THIRDS is about Dex and Sloane, with the occasional deviation.  This one is about Seb and Hudson, and it’s been a LONG time coming.  If Charlie’s Tuesday Teaser’s are any indication, it’s going to be spectacular!

release6. Release by Patrick Ness

I’m cheating here.  This doesn’t actually release in the US until September.  It releases in the UK in May.  I MIGHT order it overseas, so I’m including it.  I love everything by Patrick Ness, and I know this one is going to be just as spectacular.  I’m especially excited, since now that’s he’s a writer on the new BBC show Class, I worried he wouldn’t release any books for a while.

Buns7. Buns by Alice Clayton

Buns is book three in the Hudson Valley series by Alice Clayton.  Going into my read of Nuts, book 1, I was nervous that I wouldn’t like it, but I was wrong.  It was cute.  Book 2, Cream of the Crop, is about one of my favorite heroines ever.  I’ve been waiting forever for Buns, and now that’s almost here I’m just getting more and more excited!  Bring it on!

White Hot8. White Hot by Ilona Andrews

(I really hate these covers!)  I seriously loved Burn for Me, and I can’t wait to get my hands on White Hot.  I think this is also at the top of my spring release list.  I really can’t wait to read more about Nevada and Mad Rogan, and see what’s going to happen next between them.  Ilona Andrews does an amazing job of creating chemistry between their two main characters.

Letters to the Lost9. Letters to the LostLetters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer

I’ve read and enjoyed everything Brigid Kemmerer has ever written.  It’s no surprise that I am seriously excited for this one.  Not only is that cover gorgeous, but I also love the idea that the main character writes letters to her late mother.  That’s so heart breaking.  I’m also looking forward to how that will tie into Declan, and where Ms Kemmerer will take the story.

Stay10. Stay by Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen

I’ve said it before, but Elle and Sarina are a champion writing team.  So far I’ve loved every single book that has both their names on it.  I admit to not being quite as excited about this one, only because I don’t know this character well but, as a follow up to Good Boy, I also know that I’m positive I won’t be let down.  I think I’m going to love it!

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. Haha the cover for ‘White Hot’ is really something 😛 Some good books lined up! I may have to check out ‘Release’ myself when it’s released. I read ‘A Monster Calls’ and adored it!

  2. “Letters to the Lost” looks and sounds like a really interesting read; I recently read a rave review of it too, so that sounds like a promising read indeed! 🙂

  3. I need the Love Interest so bad!! It’s been way too long since I read a good spy book. I was lucky enough to read an early copy of The Upside of Unrequited and it was so freakin’ adorable it hurts! I liked it more than Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda.
