My Top Five Favorite Supernatural Episodes
Supernatural is my life. I eat, sleep, and breathe Supernatural. I almost broke into tears when I got caught up. Sam and Dean are kinda really sad and depressing, but they can be really funny and cute too. I love the actors who play Sam and Dean, they’re really awesome. There’s also an angel name Castiel who’s played by Misha Collins. I enjoy the writers unique way of explaining religions and God/Angels. I like how the shows not afraid to make fun of things, to poke holes in the idea of religion. It’s not afraid to make fun of itself at times. It’s that lighthearted humor, paired with the dark stories that makes it the best show I’ve ever watched.
(Dean and Cas are totally meant to be together, FYI.)
I love this show so much that I decided to do this post, reminiscing about all my favorites. These are my top five episodes.
1. The French Mistake
Sam and Dean find themselves on the set of the TV Show Supernatural, with an angelic hitman after them.
In the French Mistake I like how Jared and Jenson the actors are performing as Dean and Sam pretending to be Jared and Jenson acting like Sam and Dean… in an alternate reality. That dynamic led to the funniest scenes from all 12 seasons. If you haven’t watched it, you should just put this one episode on and laugh. Or, you really should just watch the show.
2. Family Remains
A family looks for a new start in the country. But something is inside the walls of their house.
This one was creepy and a real shocker, but I don’t want to tell you what the twist is. It was just one of the scarier episode, especially coming from the earlier seasons.
3. Fan Fiction
When Dean and Sam investigate the mysterious disappearance of a teacher at an all girls school, they are shocked to find a musical being adapted based on the Carver Edlund Supernatural series.
I really like all the episodes that make fun of Supernatural inside the show. I like that they turned the television show into books that someone is writing about their lives, so when they investigate the school that is putting on the Supernatural play I laughed so hard. Plus, all the kids singing Carry On My Wayward Son at the end was awesome! (And the second act has robots!)
4. Mystery Spot
Sam keeps reliving the same Tuesday in which Dean keeps dying.
Mystery Spot was supposed to be sad but it wound up being funny because Sam goes on a rampage after having to watch his brother die over and over again, sometimes in very gruesome ways. For us though, watching Dean die just got funnier and funnier! It was a really interesting twist on the episode. (He dies in the shower! He chokes on food! He gets crushed by a piano! Like Wile E Coyote!)
5. Just My Imagination
Sam’s old imaginary friend, Sully, comes back into his life looking for his help after learning other imaginary friends are being mysteriously killed.
Just My Imagination was actually really sad, because it was all about the death of imaginary friends. There was an innocence to it that made those deaths worse. To see Dean and Sam trying to help the kids, plus we got the flashbacks of Sam and why he needed an imaginary friend. It was a very creative episode, and it will stand out over the course of the show I think.
Thanks for reading!
If you are going to watch Supernatural, please give it through season 1. It gets better and better.
I fell in love with this show from the first episode but lately, I’ve been enjoying it less and less. I just don’t like the storyline anymore 😦 I miss how scary it was and how funny. I miss all the old characters and it feels like they’re just killing everybody off.

Are you caught up with season 12? We haven’t watched that one. We’re waiting for it to hit Netflix. I do think they tend to kill everyone off to quickly. I can think of many characters I wish would have stuck around longer. Top of the list is Charlie.

Yes I’ve watched every episode so far (except for the one last night). I hope at least some of those characters will return..

The French Mistake def number one. Pretty fond of Fan Fiction and Mystery Spot too. I have to add Changing Channels though. Love Gabe! LARP and the real girl is up there. And a very special fondness for Baby.
But there’s probably another fifty I could happily add 😊

Oh man, The French Mistake was the one that made me laugh the most. The second one would be LARP and the real girl. I love Gabe so much! I still haven’t given up hope that he’ll be back.

Those 5 episodes were my favourite of the series! It is so clever how they pretend that ‘Supernatural’ is not a TV series – if that makes sense :). However I wish Adam will be rescued and Charlie and Jo will come back to life!

Man, I miss Charlie something fierce! I liked Jo a lot but Charlie was special… I want Adam to be rescued too. I liked the dynamic of a third half brother.
