Phase 1: Initial attraction: a book that you bought because of the cover

I’m so glad this one turned out well.  I LOVE this cover, and the entire hardcover book, so if it had been terrible I would have been so bummed out.  It’s gorgeous!

Phase 2: First impressions: a book that you got because of the summary

I rarely pick up a book based only on the summary, but I was walking through the bookstore and (again) something about the cover pulled me in.  If the summary had been horrible though, I wouldn’t have purchased it.  It was the summary was what did me in.

Phase 3: Sweet talk: a book with great writing

I could have chosen so many different books, but I rarely talk about E&P and it’s one of my favorite books.  Rainbow Rowell is an amazing writer.  She has this wonderful way of writing intense books in a light way, they feel sweet and romantic with atypical heroes.

Phase 4: First date: a first book of a series which made you want to pursue the rest of the series

Seven Realms has become one of my favorite Sci-Fi series, both YA and Adult, and it all started with The Demon King.  I remember being nervous to start; I had to be talked into it.  When I finished this first book though, I was in love.  It’s spectacular.

Phase 5: Late night phone call: a book that kept you up all night long

Did you think I’d get through this tag without talking about TJ Klune?  I love all of his books, but Wolfsong kept me up all night.  First it kept me up reading, and then it stole my sleep because I spent the whole night thinking about it.  I can’t wait for news of the sequel!

Phase 6: Always on my mind: a book that you could not stop thinking about

The King's Men

This series, in entirety, was insane.  The whole thing spun me for a loop.  I didn’t expect to feel so much passion for this story, and honestly I don’t even understand where it all came from.  Nora Sakavic did some serious magic on this one, because you can’t help but feel out of control when you read it.

Phase 7: Getting physical: a book in which you love the way it feels

I don’t know how to explain it.  The trade paperback is so big, and the cover and pages are so floppy.  It almost molds itself around your hands.  It just feels really good to read in print.

Phase 8: Meeting the parents: a book you would recommend to your friends and family

I love all of Patrick Ness’s books, but Chaos Walking holds a special spot in my heart.  It’s still the best Dystopian I’ve ever read, and I urge everyone to pick up the trilogy and read it.  Especially before the movie comes out!

Phase 9: Think about the future: a book series that you know you’ll re-read many times in the future

Duh, right?  I’ve already read it twice, and you can bet that I’ll reread as many times as possible before I croak.  Once a year.  For the rest of my life!

    This tag looks like so much fun! I might think of doing this one! I want to read Six of Crows, I’ll Meet You There, The Demon King, Gone and Captive Prince. So many books but so little time, haha! I LOVED Eleanor and Park, I read it a while ago so I think it’s due time for a reread! I enjoyed The Knife of Never Letting go, I’ve read it twice. But unfortunately I wasn’t a fan of the next two books, and I completely forgot that there’s a movie coming out! I’ll have to reread it again in preparation. Love all your answers 🙂

    What A fun tag I will try to do it myself this coming week 😀 So fun reading your answers. Gone has been standing in the shelf way to long now but its just something inside saying…not yet…hahaha 😀

      LOL! I get it. That series was good, but exceptionally violent. I think it’s special to me because it was the first book/series that my husband read with me.

        Oh then it´s special then 😀 Well I dont mind the violence still I bought it a long time ago because I was so excited to read it then that feeling passed. But I know I will like it if I read it at the right time 😀

    This is a super cool tag. I love tags like this which really make you think about your book choices! I personally don’t connect well to Patrick Ness, but I understand why you’d recommend the Chaos Walking series to so many. I still haven’t read The Captive Prince series yet. I’d best get on that!

      I can see how some people would struggle to connect with Ness. He has a distinctive way of writing that only works for some.

      I can’t recommend The Captive Prince more. It’s amazing!
