Get to Know Me Tag

This is an interesting tag.  It’s not at all about books, which is a change, and I love that we get to know more about each other personally, as individuals.

Thank you to Katlyn from Everything Under the Sun for tagging me.  (And I’m sorry it took me so long to get to it!)

Vital Stats:

Name: Wendy
Nicknames: Mom
Birthday: Feb 23rd
Star Sign: Pisces
Occupation: CSR and Accounts Manager for a publishing fulfillment center

Appearance:

Hair Colour: Light brown… dirty blonde.  Depending on if it’s summer or winter.
Hair Length: Long.  Right now it’s down to my bum.  I’ll cut it soon to just beneath my shoulders, and in a year it’ll be down to my bum again.
Eye Colour: Hazel green
Best Feature: I think it’s my hair.  It grows fast, it’s thick and wavy enough to have body.
Braces: Not since I was about 14 years old.
Piercings: Just ears these days.  In my early 20’s I had two in one ear, three in the other, my tongue and my nose.
Tattoos: 2, but I’d love more!
Right or Left: Right.  Pretty normal.

Firsts:

Real Holiday: Does this mean ‘vacation’ or ‘national holiday’?
If it means vacation, my older sister took me to Florida when I was in Jr High.  It was awesome.  If you mean holiday holiday, Um… I don’t remember.  Most of them are pretty wonderful.
Best Friend: B-Rex, my Birdie Bookworm illustrator.  We were raised like twins, and consider each other sisters.  I’ve known her since I was 3 years old.  So that’s around 34 years.
Award: I don’t think I’ve ever really won an award.  That’s okay, I don’t feel like I missed out on anything.
Concert: When I was in elementary school my mom took B-Rex and I to see the Monkees in concert.  Except it was only Micky and Davy, and they were already old.  That’s okay though, we were crazy about the Monkees and those two were our favorites.  B-Rex even got to give Davy Jones a rose!

Favourites:

TV Show(s): Currently?  Supernatural, The 100, Arrow!  Long term?  Buffy, Dawson’s Creek, Veronica Mars
Colour: Dark Green, like a Forest Green
Song: So many to name, but probably the most recent is Dive by Ed Sheeran
Restaurant: Mongolian Barbecue, Mexican food
Shop: Target!  I love walking around Target.  And Bookstores.  I’d probably choose to spend money in the bookstore over Target.
Books: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta, Captive Prince trilogy by CS Pacat
Shoes:
I’m not a shoe kinda girl.  Give me a purse any day.

Currently:

Feeling: Relaxed after working.  Tired as it gets closer to my bedtime.
Single or Taken: Taken.  20 years together, 14 married.
Eating: Not eating.  Just finished dinner.  We had turkey, mashed potatoes, and broccoli.
Thinking About: Bills, and life problems
Watching: Beat Shazam
Wearing: black pants, blue shirt, sweater

Future:

Want Children: I have a daughter, Baby Chick, and she’s all I need.  No more for me.
Want to be Married: Already married.  He’s wonderful.
Careers in Mind: I’m decently content in my job, but I’ve always wanted to write.
Where You Want to Live: Small house, in the country.

Do You Believe in:

God: I’m spiritual, but not really religious
Miracles: Sure
Love at First Sight: No, it’s called lust at first sight.  Love comes with time and knowledge
Ghosts: Absolutely.  I have a few true ghost stories I could share.
Aliens: Yeah, why not.  There’s so many different solar systems out there, I feel like there’s gotta be another with the right atmosphere for life.
Soul Mates: I don’t believe that every person has one true mate out there.  I believe that my husband and I chose each other, and we work for our relationship because it’s important to us.  It wasn’t destined.  And that’s beautiful.
Heaven: Maybe.  Sometimes I do, sometimes I think that there’s something wonderful in returning to the earth and our soul back to energy.
Hell: No.
Kissing on the First Date: I met my husband at 16, and we’ve been together almost ever since.  I have no idea about ‘First Dates’.  Although I also don’t think there’s any shame in kissing, or sharing.  If you feel it, you feel it.
Yourself: Depends on the situation.

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. I also got together with my husband when I was 16 and been together ever since! Some people think it’s strange to be with the same person from such a young age but it’s been wonderful staying with my best friend. Thanks for sharing!
