The High’s & Low’s!

June was a crazy month.  Lately work means so much less time.  I have so much less time to read, to prepare blog posts, set up my reviews.  For the first time since I started Birdie Bookworm I struggled with getting ahead.  Unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to get easier, not for a while yet.

Still, I managed to read 8 books and listen to an 9th.  I’m proud of each of those books, because I earned each and every one of them.  Plus, most of the books I read this month were 4.5-5 star reads.  That’s spectacular.  I don’t think anyone could complain about that.  I read White Hot, and of course that was amazing.  Everything by Ilona Andrews is top notch.  A Destiny of Dragons way exceeded my expectations!  It was so damn good.  I also finished the Shades of Magic trilogy, which was stellar.  I already bought This Savage Song, because I’m not done with VE Schwab.

Also, I redesigned Birdie Bookworm and I love it!  I had so many issues with my design before, but now I think it’s almost perfect.  All in all, June was a good month.

Next Month Reads

On the Schedule

some-kind-of-hero Hello Forever Skin after Skin First we were IV Wildfire Savage Song

The Potentials

Grin and Beard it Gentelmans Guide to Vice and Virtue Sunset Park Buns Shadow and Bone

I feel like this is a pretty huge load.  I have six on the calendar already, and I really want to read everything on The Potentials list too.  I’ve read 11 books before, here’s hoping I can do it again.  I want all of these under my belt.  I want it this month.

Have you read any of these?  Are you planning to?
Drop me a comment and fill me in on your month!

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

Really want to read The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue but I need to reduce my unread books in the shelves before haha

  2. Ah, I feel your pain on the work front. I find it nearly impossible to get ahead of the game because of work hours and then being so tired by the time I get home.

I’m excited about your upcoming reads though. Our Savage Song is one I’ve wanted to read for ages and hope to get to soon now that I’ve finished A Conjuring of Light and wrapped up that series. I’m becoming a serious Schwab fan.

  3. Oh I hope you love Shadow and Bone! It’s one of my favorite trilogies ever ❤
Overall, I think you had an amazing month! And only two "bad" reads, so it's pretty great 🙂
I have Internet Famous on my TBR, I think, and have been reading mostly mixed reviews. We'll see!
    Another lovely post, Birdie 🙂
