Disney Princess Sidekicks Book Tag

I really loved the Disney Princess Tag, because who doesn’t love a Disney Princess!  Still, my favorites are always those awesome adorable sidekicks!  (I was always a Meeko girl!)

Thank you so much for tagging me, Mandy!  I love your new original tag and I can’t wait to play.  Everyone else should go check out her awesome blog and follow her.  I knew she was the best when I found out she was a fellow Sasquatch believer!

Mandy, I just had an epiphany!  There should be a BIGFOOT tag!!!

THE COMIC RELIEF – NAME YOUR FAVORITE HILARIOUS CHARACTER OR YOUR FAVORITE COMEDY/FUNNY BOOK

How to Be a Normal Person

I hate to be redundant but this is honestly the funniest book I’ve ever read.  TJ Klune is a superstar at hilarious dialogue and comedy, and Gustavo Tiberius is probably my favorite comedic character ever.  It would be awesome if I convinced just one person to pick this book up!

the seven dwarfs

THE SEVEN DWARFS FROM SNOW WHITE

FAVORITE GROUP/ENSEMBLE

Raven Boys

I first thought I’d pick Six of Crows, but putting a little more thought into it I’ve realized that the cast of Raven Cycle has one of the best casts I’ve ever read.  I loved each one of them, because they all had very distinctive personalities, and the group all had such amazing chemistry.

PASCAL FROM TANGLED

THE LOYAL CHEERLEADER CHAMELEON (NOT A FROG, FLYNN RIDER) – NAME A BOOK THAT STARTED OUT ONE WAY BUT CHANGED FOR YOU

Crown Midnight

This is an odd book for me.  I enjoyed Throne of Glass, and I really enjoyed Crown of Midnight.  I gave it 4.5 stars.  My problem is that I hated how the book ended.  I hated it so much that I went looking for spoilers, praying that my world would be righted again.  The outlook wasn’t good, and I lost all interest and I have no intention of continuing this series at all.

Meeko

MEEKO FROM POCAHONTAS

POCAHONTAS’S SLY AND SNEAKY RACCOON FRIEND – NAME A PLOT TWIST THAT YOU DID NOT SEE COMING

Flamecaster

This question is always so hard because I really don’t want to give any spoilers.  I’m just going to leave this, Flamecaster.  I was SO excited to read this book, and I know it’s going to be absolutely epic, but after reading chapter one I couldn’t continue.  This particular twist literally ripped my heart from my body.  I’m pretty sure I physically couldn’t breathe, I’m pretty sure I was hyperventilating.

RAJAH FROM ALADDIN / FLOUNDER FROM THE LITTLE MERMAID

GENTLE WITH THEIR PRINCESS BUT PROTECTIVE WITH EVERYONE ELSE – NAME YOUR FAVORITE BEST FRIEND IN A NOVEL

Red Rising

Sevro!  The Goblin!  I don’t even think Darrow knew he had a best friend in Sevro, but he eventually came to love his little partner deeply.  He was the best best friend character in any book!

LOUIS FROM THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG / SEBASTIAN FROM THE LITTLE MERMAID / COGSWORTH, LUMIERE, MRS. POTTS, & CHIP FROM BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

THE MUSICAL BUNCH – NAME A NOVEL WHERE MUSIC PLAYED A BIG PART OR MADE YOU WANT TO SING ITS PRAISES

how-to-kill-a-rock-star

How to Kill a Rock Star is all about music.  The writing is lyrical, it’s about a rock star, and it’s about a connection to music with both characters.  It’s also one of the most emotionally charged books I’ve ever read, and it has one of my favorite male characters.  Paul Hudson was so passionate he just burst to life.

maximus

MAXIMUS FROM TANGLED

THE OBSTACLE IN FLYNN RIDER’S WAY – NAME A CHARACTER THAT FACES A LOT OF OBSTACLES

Bear

This one actualy took me a while.  It seems like every book has characters that have to go through obstacles, but then it hit me.  Nobody, in any book I’ve read, has gone through as much as Bear and Tyson.  From the first chapter through the fourth book, it was one seriously roller coaster road.

HAMISH, HUBERT, & HARRIS

HAMISH, HUBERT, & HARRIS FROM BRAVE

FAVORITE FAMILY DYNAMICS IN A NOVEL

burn-for-me

I love Nevada and Rogan, but I think one of my favorite aspects is Nevada’s relationship with her family.  Every single one of them is essential to the story, and has a personality that’s strong enough to compete with the main characters.  The series wouldn’t be the same without them.

RAY FROM THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG / 3 FAIRIES FROM SLEEPING BEAUTY

THE ADVICE GIVERS – BOOK THAT MOST IMPACTED YOUR LIFE

jellicoe

I adored this book so much, but that’s not why this book impacted me so much.  The real reason this book changed my life was because it was my first time reading Melina Marchetta, and Melina Marchetta definitely impacted my life.  She’s my favorite author.

HEI HEI FROM MOANA

NAME A CHARACTER THAT STEALS THE SHOW

Gathering of Shadows

Alucard Emery.  I’m not sure I can say he stole the show, because the whole cast was exceptional, but there was something about Alucard that I completely fell in love with.  He came on the scene and I was immediately fascinated.

gus and jaq

GUS & JAQ FROM CINDERELLA

OPPOSITES ATTRACT – NAME YOUR FAVORITE OR WORST OPPOSITE ATTRACTS PAIRING

Illegal Contact

Noah and Noah are complete opposites in every way, and I think that was what I loved about them most.  I loved that Noah was nerdy and sassy.  I loved that he doesn’t take shit from Gavin and his gruffness.  Then, I also love that Gavin was this giant aggressive man, but he found himself falling for Noah.  They were so cute.

If you decide to do the tag, let me know so I can read it!  If you don’t, that’s cool too.  Just know I was thinking of you!  🙂

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. Thanks for tagging! I read last month Illegal Contact and your totally right! These characters are each other’s opposite. I can’t wait to read a TJ Klune book, I have heard so many amazing things about his books.

Fantastic Tag Wendy! My problem would be finding all the characters fitting these descriptions. Now I’m going to check Melina Marchetta😉

  3. These are some clever answers, Birdie on a difficult tag. Well done.

I used to think that I was the protagonist in my books, but recently came to the startling conclusion that I’m the bungling sidekick, and Miss Persephone Plumtartt is the actual hero. :-/

    Happy Reading!

WoW that tag was so much fun! If that’s okay with you I think I’ll do it soon (as well as the original Disney princess book tag). I’m such an unconditional Disney fan 😍😍

  5. I love that you chose the Raven Cycle for the crew question, I wanted to put Six of Crows for that one too, but in the end I just felt like the Raven Cycle kids were a bit more…intertwined in all their friendships, while Six of Crows feels rather more paired off.

      1. I especially like how much it evolved- whereas the Crow kids became a tighter six-some, I liked how the Raven kids kind of evolved and brought Henry in while Noah faded out, even though that was rathe bittersweet.

  6. …CAN THE BIGFOOT TAG BE REAL? BECAUSE I LOVE THIS IDEA SO VERY MUCH. You’re so right about Alucard! He certainly just breezed in and shook up the entire Shades of Magic group. He is so amazing. And oh no about Flamecaster! :O That is terrible that a plot twist did that much damage. Thank you so much for doing the tag, Birdie, because it was so much fun to read your answers!! (Meeko is amazing as well<3) Wonderful answers, and we totally need to discuss this Bigfoot tag?
