You know what makes these awards so special?  It’s that they’re blogger nominated, and that means that you’ve left an impression with another blogger.  Isn’t that what we all set out to do?  It’s the interaction and the friendships that make blogging, and this book world, so fantastic.

Okay, so I have to pause right here and confess, I’m not going to nominate anyone this round.  This isn’t my first nomination, and I followed all the rules the first time.  I think that should count.  Plus, and don’t shoot me for saying this, I was more interested in answering the questions.  Whoever started the Liebster Award, and came up with the rules, forgive me!

MiniMac’s Questions:

1. How long did you think about your blog before starting it?
   Well, are we talking about how long I daydreamed about having my own blog?  Because, if so then I thought about it for years.  If the question is, once I’d decided to do it, how long did it take me?  Not long at all.  I took the idea and ran with it.  It was up within a couple weeks.
2. What is your favourite book to movie conversion? Why?
   This is an easy question, when you haven’t read the book like Last Unicorn, Princess Bride.  When you have read the book it gets a lot harder.  I think right now my favorite is A Monster Calls, because the movie was able to capture of the beauty of the books imagery.  It was a perfect adaptation.  I also liked Maze Runner and Scorch Trials.  I wasn’t fond of the books, but the movies were such a thrill!
3. What’s your favourite childhood book? Why?
   I loved The Mitten, and The Monkey and the Crocodile.  I also loved when my Grandpa would read me Caps for Sale.  He became the man with all the caps to me.
4. When you aren’t reading/ blogging, what hobbies and activities take up your time?
   Um… none.  Reading and blogging are my hobbies.  When I’m not reading or blogging, I’m usually working or cleaning or sleeping.
5. If you could hang one famous painting in your living room, what would it be?
   Is it cheating if I pick Starry Night?  I know it’s a lot of people’s favorite, but growing up my mom always had a large print framed.  It’s so beautiful.
6. If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
   The ability to influence others to do what I want.  I know that sounds like an evil power, but it would save me so much grief in life.  Especially when you’re married.
7. Describe yourself in three words.
   Shy, kind, imaginative.
8. If you could give new bloggers a tip, what would it be?
   Don’t get so caught up in writing and creating your own blog that you put off getting out there and making connections with other bloggers.  I promise, those connections will be the best part of all of it.
9. What is the most memorable book you’ve ever read and what made it so memorable?
   Oh lord, what a loaded question!  Okay, well you said memorable so I have to go with Jellicoe Road.  I think about those friends multiple times a week.  It’s so special to me.
10. If you could bring any fictional character to dinner who would it be and why?
    Claire Randall from Outlander.  I almost said Jamie, but the truth is I  would rather sit and have a conversation with Claire.  I really admire her character and her strength.
11. What’s the best comment you have ever received on your blog?
    I can’t answer this.  There have been far too many comments, and most of them have been outstanding.  I appreciate all of them.

Melting Pots and Other Calamities Questions:

1. What is the number one book on your TBR now?
   Speak Easy, Speak Love.  I’ve got a long list, but right now Speak Easy, Speak Love is at the top of the list for me.  Hopefully I can get to it really soon.
2. What is your latest favorite song!
   Right now I’m really into Shawn Mendes, There’s Nothing Holding Me Back.  It always makes me want to dance in my seat.  I also like Charlie Puth’s Attention.
3. What’s a genre you don’t usually like, but have one exception for?
   I don’t read a lot of Mystery novels, not serious mysteries and no cozy mysteries either.  Except, I love Josh Lanyon.  
4. What genre would you most like to write a story about.
   I’d love to have the chops to write an epic fantasy novel.  They’re my all time favorite books, and I feel like they take so much creativeness.  I’m not sure how one person comes up with the whole world and all those characters.
5. What is a piece of fiction that was like a punch to the feels?
   I will always pick Friday Brown when asked this question.  I haven’t read anything else that hurt as much as that book.  It broke my heart.
6. Have you ever enjoyed school assigned reading! If so, what?
   Nope, never.  I’ve never been able to read anything that was school assigned.  It’s like my brain turns off.  I can’t comprehend the words or something.  It’s a chore.
7. Where is your dream vacation?
   Scotland.  In the mountains.  I’d love to see the castle that was the inspiration for Castle Leoch.  I’d love to see some standing stones.  I want to do the Outlander tour.
8. What world in fiction would you most like to visit?
   I’m just like any other YA reader out there.  I want to go to Hogwarts and Hogsmeade.  I want to visit the Wizarding World.
9. What creature from any fictional world would you like to see?
   Hippogriff!  Flying horse/eagle!  Come on, that’s amazing!
10. Is there a piece of fiction you loved, but no one else seems to?
    I recently answered this on a tag, and I couldn’t come up with anything then either.  I really don’t know of anything I loved that others didn’t at least like.  I guess that means I follow popular opinion.
11. Are there two colors that, in your opinion, never go together?
    A friend and I drove past a house with a garage that was painted purple with orange and green trim.  I’d say those don’t go well together at all.  It was pretty hideous.
