I don’t know what it is about series, but I’m never ready for it to end. I’m one of the readers that always want more, even if it’s in a spin off.
I’m not sure why I am so eager, it’s not like I haven’t been burnt before. Sometimes series should end!
Anyway, this weeks Top 5 Tuesday definitely sounded like fun to me. With so many amazing series getting spin offs, I’m hoping a trend is starting so we can revisit.
Top 5 Tuesday was started by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm!
The Lumatere Chronicles
There was some talk about a spin off for Lumatere Chronicles, that perhaps they would do a story of the Yuts, and Jehr. I don’t think it actually went anywhere, but I do wish she would write that story. Or any story really. I just want more from this world, and perhaps a glimpse of these characters.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
I feel like this series was perfectly set up for a spin off. Kitty is the perfect character. I’d love to see the woman she’s going to become, and find out how different she is from both her sisters. Plus, you know that any book about Kitty will have Lara Jean and Peter. I’d love to read about Peter.
Shades of Magic
OBVIOUSLY we need a spin off of Rhys and Alucard! I can’t be the only one who wants to read about what happens next for the King and his privateer. Plus, I love the Four Londons, and even if it’s not the same as reading about Kell I’d still get more in Red London.
All for the Game
I’m not even sure what part of this series I want to read more about. Actually, I’m lying, I want a spin off that focuses on Neil and Andrew. I want that future with the cats. It doesn’t even really need to have a plot. It could just be a whole book of nothing but their daily lives.
Georgina Kincade
All of us Georgina Kincaid fans out there are still waiting patiently for our Carter spin off. I know it’s not going to happen, that were going to continue to be disappointed, but it would be a seriously awesome series with a built in plot. Come on, Richelle Mead!
Oh, man. I am so vehemently against spin-offs! LOL I seem to be quite the opposite of most. When an author creates a world I love, I always want to see what they could create from scratch again. There is such a fun anticipation to not knowing anything about a world.
Having said that, I hope you get your spin offs! 🙂

I think it depends. Take Cassandra Clare for instance, I’m very much like MOVE ON, LADY! But Ilona Andrews can clearly write anything, so gimme gimme my spinoff, that way I don’t have to truly say goodbye!

Have you read anything by CC?

Yeppers! I’ve actually read 5 of the Mortal Instruments books, and all three Infernal Devices. I haven’t read any of the new Dark Artifices books, and I didn’t read the last MI book.

I haven’t read anything from her, and I have no plans to for a multitude of reasons. I’m surprised you have.
I’m so different. I love having an completed series under my belt (including the spin offs,) and even more, I love when they end on high notes. I’m always afraid quality will drop, and I find it usually does for me.

I want a Kitty spin off too! I love her character and a book about her would be so fun and charming!

It would be! And a perfect follow up to Lara Jean!

Great list! I still have to read most of these books, so can’t say much about them.

You should check them out, then demand a spin off too. There’s power in many. 😀

Your title made me giggle – I demand a spin off, pretty please 😂 I still need to get to the Shades of Magic serie. I started it a few months ago but couldn’t get into it. 2018 it will happen!!
Thanks again for participating – added you to the list 🙂

Maybe try her Monsters in Verity series instead. It’s just as good, but darker.

Oh!! I like the sound of darker! That’s on my wish list as well. Who am I kidding, ALL the books are on my wish list! 😂

First off I completely agree with a Rhys and Alucard spin off! 😀 But secondly Georgina Kincade! I love those books, and this reminds me that I really need to finish the series because for some reason I stopped at book 3 or 4 😐

Rhys and Alucard would be awesome! The first few Georgina Kincaid books were my favorite, but the series overall is (I think) Richelle Meads best series. 🙂

I know I’ve only read the first few books but I have to agree; that series is so good. I also really liked her Dark Swan series. That’s how I got introduced to her through that series & my love for her writing blossomed! 🙂

I liked the first couple Dark Swan series, but then I got incredibly upset by the travesty that was her treatment of Kiyo’s character.

I understand that. His character went on a rollercoaster of a ride. He wasn’t my favourite character to start with and then by the end he was definitely not my favourite!

He was my favorite character in the beginning, and I felt like she slaughtered who he was. I have a whole rant about Foxes in nature, and how male foxes are considered one of the best fathers in the animal kingdom, lmao. When I was reading that series I was spewing it at anyone who would listen.

I’m not familiar with how foxes are, so I had no idea they are one of the best fathers… well damn, now I’m mad that Mead did that to his character because he was sooo sweet until she got pregnant.

Right! AND, the whole killing the kids thing just read so false.

I definitely didn’t like where that whole plot was going, I agree it felt really wrong.

I got hyped just reading the mentions of Rhys/Alucard and Neil/Andrew spin offs. I want to read Rhys and Alucard having lots of adventures and Neil and Andrew just playing with their cats and literally doing nothing stressful.

That is EXACTLY what I want to read! I want the most boring, but oddly sweet, book of Neil and Andrew.
