Wow, setting up this weeks Top 5 Tuesday taught me something! I discovered a lot of my favorite authors in 2016!
You know what else I learned? 2017 was my year for discovering authors due to Blogging! Every single one of selection can be attributed to other bloggers raving.
I guess I really have all of you to thank, so Thank YOU!
Here are my 5 favorite authors from 2017!
Top 5 Tuesday was started by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm!
Victoria Schwab/VE Schwab
Victoria Schwab is the #1 best author I discovered this year. There’s nothing better than discovering a fantastic Fantasy series, and there’s something even better about discovering an author who consistently writes amazing fantasy. That is Victoria Schwab. She’s brilliant.
Santino Hassell
While it’s true that I’ve had a very hot and cold relationship with Santino Hassell’s books, I can’t deny that he’s at the top of my 2017 new authors list. His books are always emotional, sometimes almost too emotional, and gritty. And, of course they are hot. He’s definitely an author I’ll be reading going forward.
Nora Sakavic
Okay, so Nora Sakavic has only written All for the Game but it left such an impression on me, she HAD to be on this list! A series has never made me feel so mixed up inside, and only a few series have written characters (and a love story) that will stay with me forever. Neil and Andrew will stay with me forever, therefore so will Nora.
Jenny Han
This isn’t the only series Jenny Han has written, but it is the only one I’ve read. I’ve heard her other series is gut wrenching, and lately those have been of less interest to me. I need the lighter books, which is why I really really enjoyed the Lara Jean trilogy. I know Jenny Han will be a name I’ll watch out for.
Stephanie Garber
Okay, so I’ve only read one Stephanie Garber book. I actually think it’s her only book. Regardless, it was fantastic! I’m already ready to read Legendary, and if that goes as well as I expect I know I’ll be in line waiting for whatever Garber has coming next.
So glad you’ve discovered some new authors to love! I have seen some scathing reviews for the All for the Game series, and it’s made me (who tends to love lower rated books) very hesitant to pick them up.
Cheers to 2018 being an even better reading year! 🙂

All for the Game is FULL of trigger warnings. Overflowing. And it’s got the most bizarre plot I’ve ever read. I only love it for the characters. I’d reread it, and buy it in print, for the characters.

Fantastic list! I’ve been looking at the Nora Sakavic series for quite a while but haven’t picked it up yet. I might need to now 🙂
Thanks so much for participating. Added you to the list!

Oh man, it’s so outrageous! I’m always nervous when there’s a new reader, because there was so much about it that was just bad. But, I still fell madly in love with the characters.

LOL! Well, I had a bit of a hard time coming up with 5, honestly. I’m pretty loyal to specific authors in my reading. I do have planned some more end of the year posts to discuss other favorites though.

I love discovering new favorite authors from other bloggers 🙂 though I have to admit, I believe I’m the only person on the internet who does not like V.E. Schwab…..
