Love, Simon
Based off Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertali

About the Book:
Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda
Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.
With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.
Why I’m dying to see this:
Okay, so maybe this is cheating but I don’t even care. This movie is based off a book, so I’m counting it. I mean, I’ve been waiting on this movie for so long. My daughter and I have been following the casting from the very beginning, and now it comes out in 2 months! Two months, and one week away from my daughters 14th birthday! We’re so excited. (Plus, it’s something we love together so it’s great mom and daughter time, so that’s an added bonus for me.)
Who else out there is excited to see Love, Simon?

I so wasn’t excited until I saw the trailer. It thought it’d take the magic from out of the book. I think those last scenes in the trailer with ‘coming out as hetrosexual’ kind of sealed the deal for me though. Now I don’t know if it will get a Japanese release or when but certainly I’ll at least be downloading it if I can’t see it in theatres! : )

I know how excited you are to see this one! I’m going to be honest – I’m not big on the name change. It gives me a shallow feeling compared to the title of the book.
I hope you LOVE this one!

I haven’t! I tried to read it before Upside of Unrequited but I wasn’t too into it. Becky Albertalli’s writing isn’t my thing… but I think I’ll be interested again if Love, Simon turns out to be really good – and it looks like it will be!!
