Today’s Top 5 Tuesday is all about authors you want to meet. I’ve realized over the last few years that authors just don’t travel to Michigan, so basically this feels like a pipe dream because I never travel out of Michigan.
Still, here are 5 of my favorite authors that I would love to see at a book signing, get an autograph, and talk to if I don’t chicken out.
Top 5 Tuesday was started by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm!
Neal Shusterman
I have so many of Shusterman’s books. I read Everlost first, and I was a giant fan from that moment on. I honestly can’t think of another author who’s imagination feels as broad and limitless as Neal Shusterman’s. I appreciate how he writes books that make us think, without pushing us to one side or another. If I was courageous, I could think of a million questions to ask him!
CS Pacat
Currently (not including Fence), CS Pacat only has one series available… but, oh what a series it is. I’m obsessed with Captive Prince, and I’d love to go to a book signing and hear her talk about what inspired this amazing trilogy and especially what inspired Laurent. He’s the top of the list, when it comes to most fascinating character’s in fiction.
Maggie Stiefvater
I read Shiver by Maggie first, and wasn’t really blown away. The first book was really good (poetic) but the second was meh. Reading that series did lead me to Maggie’s blog, and the lady is really funny and immensely talented. Since then I’ve read and fallen in love with Scorpio Races and Raven Cycle, so I’m a fan all around but it isn’t just her writing. It’s her artwork, and her music. And her personality. I’d love to meet her and nab a signed print.
TJ Klune
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nobody is surprised by this. Obviously TJ would make this list. I’m in his Klunatics group, I follow him on Twitter, and I read everything he writes. Of course I’m full of all the super fan questions. I don’t think TJ even tours, but I have entertained the idea of going to a convention he’ll be at. I’d love to hear him speak. He’s phenomenal.
Melina Marchetta
Melina lives in Australia, and I’m not sure if she does US tours. Still, a girl can dream and I definitely dream of someday getting to hear Melina talk about her characters, and what’s coming next. She’s another author I’ve read everything by, and I’m eagerly waiting for her next book. Hey, since I’m dreaming, maybe at this meet and greet they’re showing the Looking for Alibrandi movie too. I’ve always wanted to see it.
Wow, such an unique list! I should try some of Melina Marchetta’s book.

Such a wonderful list! This is where I sadly admit that I’ve yet to read a Neal Shusterman book (though I have the Unwind series on my shelf!) And I also haven’t read Melina Marchetta but plan to some day. I’m even more excited to read them now that they’ve made your list!
Thanks for participating – added you to the list!
