Top 5 Tuesday | Books I’d Save from Certain Death

Top Five

This is IMPOSSIBLE!  My husband knows that he’s going to have to drag me out of the house, if there’s a fire, kicking and screaming because I’m going to try to carry out my entire bookshelves!  I’ve told him, “Animals and people first, then I’m going back in for my books!”

Asking me to pick just 5 is cruel, so I’m doing what I want!

Top 5 Tuesday was started by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm!

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

I’d want the entire series, but I’d sacrifice everything after Outlander, so long as it means I can grab the other books I’ve listed below.  Keep in mind, when I say I’d grab Outlander what I really mean is that I’d grab my paperback, my signed copy, and my 20th anniversary edition!  None will be lost to the flames!

Jellicoe Road & Lumatere Chronicles
by Melina Marchetta

As much as I would want all my Melina Marchetta books, I’d settle for nabbing Jellicoe and Lumatere.  They aren’t only books by my favorite author, they are some of my favorite books by my favorite author.  That makes them top of the list!

Captive Prince by CS Pacat

There’s no way I could leave my house without the Captive Prince trilogy.  I’d feel like my heart was burning.  Honestly, just because I could rebuy them, doesn’t stop them from being priceless!

All of my TJ Klune Books!

Who’s surprised by this one?
I only have 4 print books by TJ Klune, but that’s because I bought the ones I loved the absolute most.  How do you leave behind something that made you feel so much!  It’s like leaving behind a family member!
I’d never let you burn, TJ!

How to Be a Normal Person Wolfsong

Him & Us by Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen
The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic

I can’t CHOOSE!

See, what had happened was…
I only wanted to catagorize in 5 catagories, because that makes me feel like less of a cheater.  So, even though these aren’t even by the same author, and aren’t even really the same genre, I couldn’t allow myself to stretch this post into another section.  I make my own rules, or at least I’ll bend someone else’s rules!

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. Books I’d save from certain death?! HAHAHAHA! love it! I have a feeling that if I ever manage to read Outlander it will make it’s way on my list! I know I’ll love it but the amount of pages is making me so afraid to start it! And the cover for Jellicoe Road caught my eye so long ago but I haven’t picked it up due to mixed reviews. But since you love it so much I have a feeling I will too! Adding it to my wishlist!
Thanks for participating – added you to the list 🙂

  3. Argh!! I LOVE Melina Marchetta. I’ve read Looking for Alibrandi about a million times (not just for school!). I have the Lumatere Chronicles (and have had them for years), but I’ve always been too scared to start them in case she doesn’t do fantasy as well as she does contemporary. That’s such a relief to head that you would save them from certain death though!!

Him and Us are the only books on your list I’ve read and I have to agree…. I will definitely save them and keep them with me forever… Probably one of my most favorite couples 😊😊😊
