Another year down!  I can’t believe it.  It doesn’t feel like I’ve been writing on Birdie Bookworm for 2 years.  It’s been such a wonderful place for me to share my love of books with such an amazing group of friends.  I write mostly for myself, and yet it’s brought me a new community of friends, and that means so much to me!

I learned a lot about blogging in my first year.  It was all about the newness.  The excitement.  Now, I’ve been blogging for another year and what I’ve learned has been different.  In my second year I’ve been through slumps, both in reading and in my personal life.  I’ve felt the struggle to come in and blog when everything else is bogging me down, but I persevered.  I’ve learned more about not sweating the small things, like stats or blogging every day.  What we all do, this online world we’ve all built, should be entertaining.  It’s what I believe.  We do it because we love it first, and whatever bonuses we get are just perks.

This environment and community means so much.  So, to show my thanks for all the comments, conversations, and even ‘likes’, I’d like to raffle off a $20 gift card to one lucky winner.

Now, I have to shine a light on the obvious, my featured image still has a 1 on the cupcake.  Hey! It’s obvious to me!  It’s from last year, but I love it so I’m not letting it go.  It’s gorgeous!  Birdie Bookworm will be 8 years old, and that cupcake will still have a 1 on it.  🙂

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.
