Top 5 Tuesday | Need to Read!!

Top 5 Tuesday!

There’s so much I didn’t read in 2018.
My entire reading world became light and fluffy romance novels, which means everything slightly intense I wanted to read was pushed back.
I’m praying that 2019 is a lot easier on me, and I can get back to reading the deeper stories I’ve listed below.

Top 5 Tuesday was started by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm!

Dry & Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman

Dry Thunderhead

Neal Shusterman is one of my favorite authors.  There really is no excuse for it.  I will read these books.  I already own Thunderhead, so that will be first, but they will both be read in 2019.  (Dry sounds so fascinating, especially in our world right now, I eye it every day!  My brain is craving it!)

What if It’s Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera

What If It's Us

I’ve heard so many good things about this book.  I’ve heard it’s happy, but I’m still so nervous.  I just want happiness right now.  As I transition back to books with more substance, this will probably bridge the gap.  I also already own this one, so plan to see me read it very soon.

Vengeful by VE Schwab

Vengeful

I think what holds me back from reading Vengeful is the idea that it’s got new main characters.  I want to read about Eli and Victor.  I’m sure Ms Schwab will more than sell it, so I really just need to get over it and get this book on my bookshelf!

The Lady’s Guide to Pirates and Petticoats by Mackenzi Lee

Ladys Guide Petticoats Piracy

I was so excited for this book.  Yet, every time I think about buying it, I back out.  Feminism, pirates, and petticoats… I know I’m going to love it.

The Wicker King by

wicker king

Ever since I read Melanie talking about The Wicker King it’s been on my radar.  I’ve heard it’s angsty though, so it’s been waiting.  However, it won’t wait longer than 2019.  I vow it.

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. I basically want to read all those books at some point this year haha

I’m with you on 2018 with a lack of reading – it wasn’t until the end of the year that I actually managed to pick up momentum and get over my slump. I still brought a number of books in 2018 which gives me a lot to catch up on

I have SO many books on my TBR that I need to read this year 🙂

Really looking forward to Thunderhead, I read and loved Scythe last year and I’m so excited to see what happens next.

Also really looking forward to What If It’s Us. I love Becky and Adam and I can’t wait to see what they came up with together.

    Happy reading xx

ahhhh i love that you’re going to read all of these books!!!!! i sadly wasn’t a big fan of What If It’s Us, because one of the main characters is a giant jerk, but the book still somehow managed to be cute skjdf c: c:

it’s v wholesome! ❤ and in K Ancrum's other book, "The Weight of the Stars," we get Jack + August + Rina againnnn, even though the story is about a new generation

(it was the first polyamorous rep i've ever read?? i didn't really get polyamory vibes in book 1 so i was surprised, but i can see it now, looking back)
