Top Ten Tuesday is now 10 years old. Top Ten for Ten Years.

That’s a pretty special announcement.

For the ten year anniversary of Top Ten Tuesday, the choice was a freebie of sorts. You could either redo one you’d done previously, or you could choose any past topic to share today.

I went with the latter.

I decided to (again) post those books I never shut up about, in the form of 10 books/series I could reread forever.

If, Heaven forbid, I were only allowed rereads for the rest of my life, it would be no contest.

1. Outlander

by Diana Gabaldon

I only chose book one in this series, not because I don’t love others, but because this one is my most favorite to reread. There’s something so passionate and beautiful about this book. If it had ended here, I’d love it just as much.

2. Clan of the Cave Bear

Again, I’m only selecting book one here. First, the others were definitely less impressive. In fact, while I used to reread the entire series often, now I only really care to read book one. The Clan of the Cave Bear is fantastic fiction. The others started to feel repetitive.

3. Where the Red Fern Grows

Where the Red Fern Grows is my childhood favorite. There’s a cadence to the writing that feels so familiar to me. The narrator of the story reminds me of my Grandpa, and I remember vividly reading this with him and watching him get just as emotional as I did. This would be one of my favorites anyway, that that memory makes it even more special.

4. Jellicoe Road

by Melina Marchetta

Melina Marchetta is one of my favorite authors. I’ve loved everything she’s ever written, but it all started with Jellicoe Road. This book is so stunning, so beautiful, nothing has ever compared. If I could only read one book for the rest of my life, I’d be heartbroken, but I think this is the one I’d pick.

5. Him, Us, Epic, & Good Boy

by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

Hush! I know this isn’t technically a series. Him, Us, and Epic are one series, and Good Boy is another. However, in my head (and in my heart) Good Boy is the final book in the Him series. Blake belongs in the same series as Wes and Jamie, and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.

6. Lumatere Chronicles

Melina Marchetta again! This time around it’s all about the world building, characters, and feminism. I’ve never read another series, especially one in the fantasy genre, that tackles all the ways a woman can be strong. Women can be warriors. They can be homemakers. They can be survivors. They can be all of that and more, and still be the strength of a series. That’s what Isaboe, Quintana and Phaedra are. Feminists.

7. Captive Prince

Captive Prince as a trilogy gives everything. It has beautiful romance, strong well rounded characters, an elaborate world, intricate political intrigue… it is EVERYTHING. I will reread this series yearly, for the rest of my life. I guarantee it.

8. Lover Eternal

by JR Ward

I was obsessed with the Black Dagger Brotherhood about 10 years ago. Seriously, I was so obsessed I’d made up my own BDB name. I was Ehnergy. No joke. Until about a month ago, Cat had me in her cell phone as Ehnergy. The obsession has ended, I recognize where the series was great and where the series was not so great. What I did get out of it was Rhage and Mary. This book is paranormal romance perfection. Every interaction between these two blew my mind.

9. How To Be

Is anyone surprised to see this on my list? I didn’t think so. How To Be a Normal Person is my absolute favorite book by my second absolute favorite author. For me, Jellicoe Road is the best Melina Marchetta book, and How To Be a Normal Person is the best TJ Klune book. I also had to include How To Be a Movie Star because, while overall Josie and Quincy weren’t quite as fascinating as Gus and Casey, it did give me my mantra. “The world is a big place, sometimes you just want to be small.” The idea that it was okay to want to be small sometimes hit me so hard, I got it tattooed on my arm.

10. Leo Loves Aries

Leo Loves Aries is so adorable and sweet. Objectively it is one of my favorite romance novels. Taking objectivity out of the equation, it also arrived in my life at a time I needed something light and fluffy very badly. So, not only does the words bring me enjoyment, they also bring me comfort. When I read Leo Loves Aries I feel like I’m being hugged.
