Ten Books I Purchased Before I Started Blogging That I STILL Haven’t Read Yet
#1. House of Scorpions
I bought this shortly after joining Goodreads, when I was hitting the Dystopian’s hard. Year by year, there it sits, untouched on my bookshelf.
#2. Ship Breaker
See above, same situation. I think I bought them around the same time. Never read, but I also can’t seem to let them go.
#3. Sacajawea
I’ve had this paperback book since I was a little girl. I’ve always loved Historical Fiction, and I want to read it. As a little girl it just looked so daunting, as a woman I can’t get past that little girl’s nerves.
#4. The Bronze Horseman
I bought this years ago, having seen so many comparisons between this and Outlander. I know I should read it. My protectiveness over Outlander won’t allow it.
#5. The Amulet of Samarkand
After the completion of Harry Potter I went on a search for another children’s fantasy series. I bought the box set of the original Bartimaeus trilogy and now it sits on my daughter’s shelf, unread by either of us.
#6. The Enemy
This was a double whammy. I love Zombie books, and they’re also my husband’s favorite genre. I bought this thinking it was a good pick for both of us. Again, neither of us ever picked it up.
#7. Black House
A friend of mine convinced me to read more Stephen King. One of them was The Talisman. I loved it and wanted the sequel. Now it collects dust on my bookshelf, untouched.
#8. 20 Boy Summer
Around the time I bought my first Kindle I went e-book happy. I bought a million of them, all on a whim. This was a ‘whim’ selection. This is also the reason for #9.
#9. North of Beautiful
See #8. Shortly after buying both I lost interest in the genre.
#10. The Land of Painted Caves
Clan of the Cave Bear is one of my all time favorite books. I liked Valley of the Horses, and Mammoth Hunters. After that they got more and more repetitive. I won the final book on a Goodreads Giveaway in 2011, and haven’t read it to this day.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and the Bookish!
I bought The Bronze Horseman because of the Outlander comparison. I’ve yet to read it either. I think the sheer size of it put me off a bit. Great List, I may have to add a few of these to my TBR pile lol.
Happy Reading

Size didn’t used to bother me, these days I have preferred them smaller. I can read more that way.

I haven’t read/heard of these ones before. You’ve caught my interest with 20 Boy Summer, though. I might have to check that one out! 😉
