Movies I Love so Much I Can Recite Them!
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about movies! Your top ten pick of movies, whatever list you want to come up with. Instead of doing favorites, or rom-com’s. (I almost did Rom-Coms.) I decided to bring you ten movies that I’ve watched so many times I know them by heart!
If there are any movies that you can recite word for word, that you can’t help but mouth when you watch, leave me a comment and tell me. Or give me your favorite line. I know you have some too.
#1. Newsies
#2. Little Mermaid
#3. Land Before Time
#4. The Sound of Music
#5. All Dogs Go to Heaven
#6. The Man From Snowy River
#7. The Sandlot
#8. The Last Unicorn
#9. Tombstone
#10. New Kids on the Block Hangin Tough Tour Movie
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and the Bookish!
Ah, The Little Mermaid is one of my all-time favorites – my sorority nickname was even Ariel! And The Sandlot – if someone doesn’t know all the words to that movie, they need to get on that!

HA! I agree! The Sandlot is timeless, in my opinion!

Oh wow, nice list! I haven’t seen some of these, and for some it has been a *very* long time! I’d say that most of the old animated Disney movies I know pretty well. My friend and my brother and I also used to be able to just about quote the whole of Brother Bear together. Good times 🙂

LOL! That’s one I’m less familiar with, but I agree. Those we’ve likely all seen enough to quote them without a problem.

The Sand Lot!! That’s one of my favorites! I can’t believe I forgot it.

I originally forgot it too. My sister reminded me! 😀

Fun list! I definitely had The Little Mermaid memorized…once upon a time. 😊

I bet you could still recite it if you put it on.

I loved The Last Unicorn growing up! I bought it for my daughter when it was rereleased on DVD a few years back. She loves it, but my husband I noticed that it’s way trippier and weirder than we remembered!
My TTT.

Haha! I noticed that when I watched it as an adult too. Definitely one of those movies that has some recreational tones too it. My daughter liked it fine, but she didn’t love it the way I did when I was a kid. I think kids have a harder time with older cartoons just from the difference in graphics.

I could understand that. I thought it was funny my daughter loved it so much. She made her friend watch it with her and now her friend wants to watch it whenever she’s over. Crazy, right?

My daughter likes the older movies I liked. We watched Hope Floats the other day. And she loves A Knight’s Tale.

Land Before Time is such an awesome movie!!! Love that you have the NKOTB tour movie listed. Great list!!

Hahaha, thanks. I think it’s funnier that I have that movie memorized. I watched it so much when I was a kid that my VHS wore out.

Some of the top ones I have memorized are Disney’s The Lion King, Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, The American President, The Big Chill, You’ve Got Mail, The Princess Bride, and Howl’s Moving Castle.
The Lion King is the big one tho’. I can *almost* do that one without the movie on. When it first came out, I was babysitting a little guy who liked to watch it over and over and over. And those were the days of VHS so we’d watch it, stick it in the high speed rewinder, watch it again, etc.

Haha, I can do a lot of Lion King too. (And Aladdin.) Maybe specific scenes of Princess Bride.
LOL, high speed rewinder. We never had one. It was always a slow rewind, and I was jealous of the people that had the fast rewinder. 😀

So, The Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven and The Last Unicorn were three of my all-time favourite movies when I was a kid. Just thinking of those movies makes me crazy nostalgic! Those were the days when kids’ movies were equal parts adorable and traumatic – we were tough cookies way back when! 😉

Ha! Isn’t that the truth! I tried to get my daughter to watch Honey I Shrunk the Kids and she had a melt down over the ant. I cried, but man ‘toughen up kid!’. 😀

Excellent list! I had to chuckle at the NKOTB one, though ;).

haha, I got my first record when I was 8 and it was, well actually is, my longest obsession.

Haha, I still have a bit of a crush on Mark Wahlberg. It’s always confusing whether he was actually in the band or not, but he was, be it shortly!

Very shortly, and just before they found Joey. 🙂

Great list – I can definitely recite quite a few of these – particularly all the songs from Sound of Music. When I love a film I do tend to be able to watch it over and over and over and over, which is probably a bit tedious for everyone else – especially when I start reciting all the lines!

my husband thinks it’s tedious too, but I love rewatching movies.

Aw, “The Little Mermaid,” I am told, was my favorite as a kid. 🙂 Also love “The Sound of Music.” It’s a classic, always!

I drove my aunt crazy as a kid, watching Sound of Music on repeat and dancing around her living room. She told that story through my whole life, how nuts it made her to hear Do Re Mi on repeat.

So many great movies! The Sound of Music is awesome and is the Little Mermaid. But the Land Before Time was my childhood! I’ve watched the VCR Tape countless of times over and over again. Parts of it used to terrify me, but I really love the movie overall so I kept watching it. Haha.

It had a really great cast of characters and an interesting plot. They’ve attempted other dinosaur movies since then and none of them even came close to Land Before Time!

All Dogs Go to Heaven is such a good movie! 🙂 And lots of other good ones 🙂
Last Unicorn book was sad…don’t know if I could bear watching the movie

Another book I haven’t actually read. However, with this one I didn’t realize it was a book until after I’d seen the movie a million times.
The movie wasn’t sad… so maybe something was changed.

Great list! I went with the same kind of topic. It’s so much fun to revisit these favorites! I think I can recite along with so many of that era’s Disney movies, especially Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. 🙂

Oh, definitely with Beauty and the Beast. It makes me want to rewatch them all.
