Movies I Love so Much I Can Recite Them!

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about movies!  Your top ten pick of movies, whatever list you want to come up with.  Instead of doing favorites, or rom-com’s.  (I almost did Rom-Coms.)  I decided to bring you ten movies that I’ve watched so many times I know them by heart!

If there are any movies that you can recite word for word, that you can’t help but mouth when you watch, leave me a comment and tell me.  Or give me your favorite line.  I know you have some too.

#1. Newsies

#2. Little Mermaid

#3. Land Before Time

#4. The Sound of Music

#5. All Dogs Go to Heaven

#6. The Man From Snowy River

#7. The Sandlot

#8. The Last Unicorn

#9. Tombstone

#10. New Kids on the Block Hangin Tough Tour Movie

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. Ah, The Little Mermaid is one of my all-time favorites – my sorority nickname was even Ariel! And The Sandlot – if someone doesn’t know all the words to that movie, they need to get on that!

  2. Oh wow, nice list! I haven’t seen some of these, and for some it has been a *very* long time! I’d say that most of the old animated Disney movies I know pretty well. My friend and my brother and I also used to be able to just about quote the whole of Brother Bear together. Good times 🙂

      1. I could understand that. I thought it was funny my daughter loved it so much. She made her friend watch it with her and now her friend wants to watch it whenever she’s over. Crazy, right?

Some of the top ones I have memorized are Disney’s The Lion King, Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, The American President, The Big Chill, You’ve Got Mail, The Princess Bride, and Howl’s Moving Castle.

The Lion King is the big one tho’. I can *almost* do that one without the movie on. When it first came out, I was babysitting a little guy who liked to watch it over and over and over. And those were the days of VHS so we’d watch it, stick it in the high speed rewinder, watch it again, etc.

  4. So, The Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven and The Last Unicorn were three of my all-time favourite movies when I was a kid. Just thinking of those movies makes me crazy nostalgic! Those were the days when kids’ movies were equal parts adorable and traumatic – we were tough cookies way back when! 😉

      1. Haha, I still have a bit of a crush on Mark Wahlberg. It’s always confusing whether he was actually in the band or not, but he was, be it shortly!

  5. Great list – I can definitely recite quite a few of these – particularly all the songs from Sound of Music. When I love a film I do tend to be able to watch it over and over and over and over, which is probably a bit tedious for everyone else – especially when I start reciting all the lines!

  6. So many great movies! The Sound of Music is awesome and is the Little Mermaid. But the Land Before Time was my childhood! I’ve watched the VCR Tape countless of times over and over again. Parts of it used to terrify me, but I really love the movie overall so I kept watching it. Haha.

  7. Great list! I went with the same kind of topic. It’s so much fun to revisit these favorites! I think I can recite along with so many of that era’s Disney movies, especially Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. 🙂
