The Jingle Bell Book Tag

Happy Holiday’s to all of you!  I’m actually a bit of a Grinch when it comes to the Holidays, but for some reason I like taking part in Holiday tags.  I must like to celebrate in little book related ways.  Nicole (Sorry, I’m Booked), thank you so much for tagging me, because it meant I got to schedule this ON Christmas Day!

Now: Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the waaaaay!

“All I Want For Christmas Is You…”
What book do you want to see under the Christmas Tree?

Eeeeh, probably none.  I actually have all the books I really want, currently.  Plus, I kinda feel like book buying is almost like picking out someone’s clothes.  You really have to know the person well to pick out something as intimate as a book.  Does that make me sound like a snob?

“Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time…”
What book that you have read this year have you enjoyed the most?

There was so much, so how about we go with the entire THIRDS series by Charlie Cochet.  I read Hell & High Water about 6 months ago and read everything in the series as quickly as I could.  I love the entire series.  It’s funny, romantic, sexy, and entertaining.  Man, how I wish there were more to read right now.

Elf
What book unleashes your inner child?

Charlotte’s Web.  I haven’t read it through from beginning to end in a long time, but I still remember the cadence of the writing and each of the characters tone’s.  I still think it’s one of the best children’s books ever.

“It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas…”
Which book has most festive look to it?

I want to read this for two reasons: 1) John Green 2) The Cover

The Grinch
Your favourite villain…

I don’t have any.  The villains I like are more like Anti-Heroes.  They are reluctant heroes that have villainous personalities.  For instance, I love Damien from the Renegade X series.  He was raised as a Villain, literally.  Then he finds out that he’s a product of his mother’s one night stand with a Hero, and his entire world is turned upside down.  His questioning who he really is leads to him walking down a path he never expected.  Now that is a good story.

The Holiday
Name your favourite TWO couples…

With questions like this I always want to give you new answers, but the would be dishonest.  My two favorite couples are Jamie and Claire from Outlander, of course.  They are the epitome of the perfect couple, if only people would stop messing up their lives and let them retire, for goodness sake!  And also, I love Laurent and Damen from Captive Prince.  Twas a bumpy road for these two men, but it ended beautifully.

What book would you like to give as a present to your followers?

I can’t pick just one!  I’d want to give each of you something individual, that I selected just for you, based off of the things you like or dislike.  If you force me to only pick one, then I think I would go with The Warmint, because it’s tiny, short, and oh so cute.  My mom read it to me as a little girl, and I still have the same copy (worn and loved) sitting on my bookshelf.  I think I loved it so much because, even though the kid was a brat, the book was written back when it wasn’t okay for a little girl to be devilish… and yet this family loved her through and through anyway.

The holiday is almost over, but in case someone wants to do it and has been waiting for a good opportunity, take this one.  I tag you!

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. Yes! Charlotte’s Web! I completely agree. It’s such a great book.
I totally understand how hard it is to pick out a book for someone else. That said, I still like to try and find books other people enjoy. It’s a challenge, and I like that. I’m not often successful, however. 😆

  2. This was a cute little Christmas tag. 🙂 Man, I am going to have to give in and get the Charlie Cochet books in audio just to fit them in ASAP! You haven’t stopped talking about them since you read them.
