The Nintendo Book Tag

Hey Icebreaker694, thank you so much for tagging me in the Nintendo Book Tag!  I loved Nintendo when I was younger, and would love to get my hands on some of those older games, like Super Mario Bros.  This one sounds like so much fun.  🙂

NES (Nintendo Entertainment System):
A classic you want to read.

Jane Eyre

This is my Grandma’s favorite book.  She gave me one of her copies, but I’m sad to say I haven’t read it yet.  I need to remedy this very soon.

SNES (Super Nintendo):
A sequel you liked more than the first.  (Can be a second book in a series.)

froi

I really liked Finnikin of the Rock, but even then Froi was the character I was most intrigued by.  He was so young, and already so broken.  Then somehow in the end we were left with hope.  Froi of the Exiles were so incredible.  It gave me everything I expected out of Froi.

Nintendo 64:
A book that revolutionized the way you look at the world.

Inferno

I’m not even a Dan Brown fan.  I read Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.  I think a majority of the world did.  Inferno is the only other Dan Brown book I’ve read, and it wasn’t even the best.  It did open my eyes and make me view the world, and our population, in a completely new light.

Gamecube:
A popular book that did not go over so well with you.

winter

I know that everyone loved this book, and this whole series actually.  I actually really didn’t like Winter.  I won’t get into it too much, I’ll just say that I was completely let down.

Wii:
A new favorite book.

The King's Men

I still can’t believe how much I loved this book.  Especially because it was so crazy.   I still find myself googling and reading more about Andrew and Neil.  I can’t let them go.

Nintendo Power:
Favorite graphic novel series or a series you want to start.

I don’t really read Graphic Novels, but if it counts, I am eager to read Wires & Nerves.

Wires and Nerves

Super Mario:
A character that you’d love to squish like a Goomba.

captive-prince

The Regent from the Captive Prince trilogy.  I truly don’t know if there’s a character out there I hated more.

Zelda:
A newer fantasy that you consider to be a modern classic.

finnikin froi quintana

I thought about this one for a while, but not only does this series have amazing characters , but the overall story is more than your normal every day fantasy.  It makes you think, and realize that there is no such thing as a bad guy.  Only different truths.

Samus-Aran:
Favorite Sci-Fi novel or one you want to read.

Again, I don’t read a lot of Sci-Fi.  But, if I had to choose I guess I would go with these two.

Illuminae murmuration

Pokemon:
Book editions that you want to collect.

Even though I already own most of the series, and I haven’t even finished the whole thing, I’m crazy about the newer coves of Wheel of Time.  Every time I go to the bookstore I want to buy the new covers. (The second cover is new.)

Eye of the World Eye of the World 2

Donkey Kong:
A book with original characters.

Raven Boys

I always choose this book when asked for original characters.  This cast is one of my all time favorites, and Blue and her Raven boys are outstanding.

Nintendo Fandom:
Favorite Nintendo game(s) or game.

I don’t even remember.  One of the early editions of Mario.  Probably Super Mario.

I Tag:

I know I’ve been so lazy, but it’s so much more fun to leave the tags open for anyone to play.  So, if you’re reading this, tag yourself and have fun!

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. I’ve been looking forward to reading The Raven Boys, Illuminae and Wires and Nerves. Also, I’ve started Simon vs The homosapien agenda after your recommendation!
    Awesome post, as always. 😊

  2. This tag is very nostalgic! I still wish I had asked my parents for an N64 because some days I just want to play it, and I can’t because I don’t have the console, boo! I love Dan Brown’s books! I read, I guess you can call it a series since they all have Robert Langdon in them, and they changed the way I looked at things; those books made me want to study philosophy!

  3. Ha, weeks after finishing the Foxhole Court I kept googling fan headcanons and art and whatnot about Andrew and Neil. I did not expect them to suck me in so much, but it’s so fun. Also I definitely agree with you about the Raven Cycle characters, they’re some of my all time faves!
