The High’s & Low’s!

It was a really crazy month for me, and I think that’s obvious by the books I chose to read.  February was definitely my month of rereads.  I really went for what I already knew, needing to surround myself with things that are familiar and make me feel good.  It worked too, I think I may be working myself back into the swing of things and adapting to the new changes in my world.

Thankfully, the two new books I did read in February were both really good.  I knew Iron Gold would be, but I didn’t anticipate all the frustration I would feel too.  It was definitely a roller coaster of a ride, and I’m super excited for the next installment.  Then, When Death Meets the Devil was a random selection, chosen only because I like military romance, and it ended up being pretty good.  I think, with my mind as all over the place as it was, if it hadn’t been good I probably wouldn’t have finished it.

Next Month Reads

On the Schedule

More than we can tell Lake Silence Point Contact Magic Slays Zombie Abbey

The Potentials

turn-coat Vicious

For March I’m keeping my ‘potential reads’ down.  I really need to knock these two books out, so I’ll be trying to make myself pick them up.  I will catch up on the Dresden Files darn it!  I want to be ready, whenever Jim Butcher releases a new installment!  And Vicious is the last VE Schwab I have to read (not including her MG books).  Everyone raves about this book, and I know she’s writing the sequel now, and just like Dresden, I want to be on the bandwagon for it’s release.

For books that are scheduled, I’m actually starting More Than We Can Tell now, but my reading has been slow going so I’m including it for March instead of February.  Magic Slays, obviously I’ll love it.  It’s a reread of one of my favorite series.  I’m nervous about Lake Silence.  It has big shoes to fill, trying to follow in Meg and Simon’s footsteps.  Point of Contact and Zombie Abbey are impulse reads, so I hope I actually enjoy them.  I can’t afford another slump, so I won’t be trying to force myself if I don’t feel it.

Was your February was wonky as mine?  Maybe it was the shorter month that through is off?

What do you have planned for March?  Should I add anything to my list?

Inquiring minds want to know.

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. In February, I was taking part in this Cutthroat Book Challenge so all TBRs went out the window and I read the weirdest collection of books. I hope you do get to Vicious this month, at least it’s not a complete brick of a book like some of her other books.
