About the Book: As an FBI agent, she specialized in hunting America’s most elite thieves.
Now, she’s become one of them.
Blair Morgan’s world is in shambles.
After being used as a scapegoat by a corrupt former boss, she is unceremoniously fired from the FBI. Now, with her reputation, pride, and years of service stripped away, Blair just wants to start over.
But when a chance date turns into a mysterious job offer, her past comes crashing back to haunt her.
In a flash, Blair becomes entangled in a high stakes bank heist. Her status as a former FBI-agent-turned-hostage transforms her into an instant media sensation. And the unwanted attention makes her a target for ruthless killers that will stop at nothing to silence her.
Caught in the crosshairs, Blair must confront her past before she loses her freedom—or her life.
But there is something strange about this team of bank robbers. They aren’t who they seem. And as a deadly SWAT raid closes in, Blair discovers that she may not be either…

I love the feelings I get when I choose a book randomly, without any prior knowledge of popularity, and it turns out to be a great decision. It makes me feel like I’m still capable of selecting a good book without relying on bookworm friend’s review.
Picking The Spider Heist was a great decision.
I’ve been in the mood for a read that really gets my heart rate up. I’ve been searching in thrillers with little luck. In the end, it took a suspenseful heist novel to really push those buttons for me. It was a wild, fantastic, ride!
Blair was a great heroine. She wasn’t the type who believe being powerful equals being an asshole. She was strong and sure of herself, though she was also a little bit broken from her previous history with the FBI. She was always in control of herself, but not at the expense of kindness. I loved her. In The Spider Heist, at least so far, she was the shining star.
However, it wasn’t just Blair. There was a team!
Sterling was Blair’s main counterpart, and while there isn’t a romance within these pages, Birdie’s sure hoping one develops! Sterling and Blair were awesome. Sterling’s team included Alec and Marco, and the three of them together brought so much entertainment. I was hooked 100%.
The pacing was exactly how a good heist story should be. It was a slow and steady climb in adrenaline, until everything was rolling at a break neck speed and I felt like I wasn’t wearing my seatbelt! I was so invested I actually got teary eyed when my crew was on the edge of being caught! I practically cried!
This bird LOVES a good heist story…
so this bird loved The Spider Heist!
While I’m waiting for The Sky Thieves I may be going back and reading more of Jason Kasper’s backlist!
Thanks for the reminder to go read this one. I’ve actually got this book, but forgot to read it (or put other books ahead of it is probably more accurate)

So glad you enjoyed this one! This heroine sounds right up my alley. I think I’d like the way she is portrayed.
Oh, man. I have the EXACT OPPOSITE issue. There are so many Thrillers that look good to me that I can never narrow it down.
