Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison
Elder Races #1
Paranormal Romance
Berkley | May 3, 2011
About the Book:Half-human and half-Wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the Wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful—and passionate—of the Elder Races.
As the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they’ve ignited in each other.
Pia knows she must repay Dragos for her trespass, but refuses to become his slave—although she cannot deny wanting him, body and soul.
Oh my gosh, did I forget how much I can enjoy a fun PNR!! Dragon Bound was a 4 star read, and it was absolutely perfect in every way!
Lord, have I missed the familiarity of a good paranormal romance. I don’t know why I started this book, only that somehow I was fixated on reading a book about a dragon shifter, and my search led me to this book, from my own To Read list on Goodreads. Honestly, going back through my list has been a life saver, and this was just one more to add to the growing list.
I went into the read of Dragon Bound just wanting to go on a mindless enjoyable ride, and it’s exactly what I got. Dragos was the perfect predatory, alpha, dragon shifter I wanted to read about. Pia was equally magical, in a secret way I figured out pretty early but loved just as much anyway. Maybe it would seem cheesy to some, but for me Dragos’ dragon like possessiveness, and need to claim the best jewel as his hoard, was perfect! It was almost as perfect as his hilarious inability to understand why, as one of the most powerful Wyr, he can’t just demand what he wants. Why in the world does he have to say ‘please’? It sounds awful, but it was endearing, like Thor smashing his coffee cup. It was kind of cute, especially when he realized the power that magic word had over Pia.
Don’t think Pia didn’t give as much as Dragos did. She held the real power in their relationship, and the entire time I was reading I knew it. She held the power over Dragos, and over his people. Her friendship with Grayden was awesome, as was her connection with Tricks.
Speaking of Tricks, I can’t WAIT for more of her and Tiago!!
Dragon Bound was typical PNR, typical and perfect in every way. I want more like this. I want to read the next book right away. Unfortunately money dictates everything, so it’s going to wait. Not too long though. I need more of this kind of this recipe!
