Top Collab Tuesday | 5 Character Cosplay & 5 Books for Netflix

I’m doing something completely unprecedented.

Ready for it?

I’m smashing Top 5 Tuesday and Top Ten Tuesday together! Bam!

I’m a rebel!

Not really… what I really am is a woman who wants a cake she can eat -or however the saying goes. Each month I put all the topics for both meme’s on my blogging calendar and then I pick the one I think I can answer with some originality. This week, I couldn’t decide! So, that’s the truth.

I want to talk about Cosplay and Netflix, and this is the place where I get to do what I want. Enjoy!

Five Cosplay Outfits I’d Try

Top 5 Tuesday was originally hosted by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm, but recently found it’s home with Meeghan at Meeghan Reads.
Congratulations Meeghan!

1. Kaz Brekker

Six of Crows
Leigh Bardugo

Kaz is one of the best characters in fiction. The depth to his character was so fantastic. He was both someone I wanted to protect, and I felt sympathy for, but also someone dangerous and to be feared.
Everything awesome!!

2. Mustang

Red Rising
Pierce Brown

Cosplay by TheStarsEternal

Mustang from Red Rising. While she’s a Gold, she’s honorable. She’s perfect for Darrow, and a warrior in her own right. Not to mention, for cosplay her costumes would be glorious!

3. Mia Corvere

Nevernight
Jay Kristoff

Dressing up as Mia is like mashing Kaz and Mustang together. Honorable. Glorious. Dangerous. Fearsome.
and also, I love those masks. I love the masks and the knives.

4. Quintana of Charyn

Lumatere Chronicles
Melina Marchetta

This is the cosplay I think I could put together and actually pull off. You just have to get the hair, and the dress, and the wicked look. She’s savage and flighty, and fierce. She’s my favorite female character forever.

5. Kell Maresh

A Darker Shade of Magic
VE Schwab

Secrets, I love Kell’s coat. I love Kell’s eye. I love the magic and the flare. I would love to pull of some Kell cosplay.

5 Books I’m begging Netflix For

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme previously hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but as of 2018 is hosted by hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl!

1. Into the Drowning Deep

by Mira Grant

The first story that ALWAYS comes to mind for when I think about potential Netflix Movies is Into the Drowning Deep. This book is perfect for a horror movie. It’s one of the scariest books I’ve ever read, and the mermaids could be so terrifying on the screen.

2. Him, Us and Good Boy

by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

Oh my god, this trilogy would make the BEST Netflix romantic comedy series! The humor, drama, romance, it’s all already built right in. It’s got something for everyone. Hockey, LGBT and straight romance. Second Chance romance, and enemies to lovers. I’d kill for this series.

3. How to Be a Normal Person

by TJ Klune

I’ve always thought that of all TJ’s books (even The House in the Cerulean Sea) How to Be a Normal Person would make the best romantic comedy for Netflix. It would have to be picked up by somebody like Netflix because of the raunchy humor and all the pot smoking.

4. PsyCop

by Jordan Castillo Price

Supernatural. Mystery. Romance. Suspense.
I mean, doesn’t that sound great. It’s a mystery series full of ghosts, mediumship, and a fantastic cast of characters.
I would LOVE this.

5. Solving for Pie

by Penny Reid

I haven’t even read this series. In fact, the only one even out yet is Engagement and Espionage. Yet, somehow I know the recipe of Cletus Winston’s meddling and his adorable wife’s sweetness would make for the very best whodunit style series on Netflix.

About Birdie

Don’t look for her in any bar, club, crazy raging party, or anywhere there may be a large gathering of strangers. She’s more likely to be found tucked into the corner of the couch watching one of her favorite shows, or preferably under a comforter with her current novel.

  1. Birdie!! I love this!! (Also, welcome to the madhouse!! And thank you 💕)
Kaz is so great, and I really need to read The Lumatere Chronicles… I love Marchetta’s contemporary novels, I don’t even know why I haven’t read these yet!!
Mia made my list too. I’m all about the dark and stabbiness!! 😂

  2. I adore how you mashed the prompts together!! I would love to see any of Sarina Bowen’s books turned into TV shows/movies. I agree that Netflix would probably be the best place for them. The outfits are amazing! Based only on the outfit, I’m beginning to understand what I’m missing by not reading Red Rising, which I need to bump up on my TBR.

  3. I would be SO there for a Netflix adaptation of Into The Drowning Deep! I love the book and the novella so much. I wish she’d write another novel in this series — I want more killer mermaids! (Well, far away from me, but I do want to read about them.) 🙂
